Private Carp Fishing in Devon – Catch and Release Only

Although the lake is primarily a tranquil wildlife haven, we now offer optional coarse fishing for carp as a paid add-on. It’s a quiet, catch-and-release experience designed for guests looking to unwind by the water.

✔ Purchase a Fishing Pass during booking.
✔ Bring your own rods and gear – ideal for casual anglers.
Fishing Rules & Guidelines:
🎣 Barbless hooks only.
🚫 No keep nets permitted.
🐟 All fish must be gently handled and returned safely.
🧼 Equipment must be sterilised before arrival to protect the lake’s balance.
🍞 Recommended bait: bread, sweetcorn, simple groundbait & pellets.
📜 A valid rod licence (from the Post Office or online) is required.
🔒 All carp are microchipped for stock tracking and security.

While the lake is well-stocked and actively managed, nature can be unpredictable. Very occasionally, wildlife (like otters) may reduce fish visibility or numbers. In such rare cases:

🛏️ Accommodation remains non-refundable, as fishing conditions are beyond our control.
